Terms of Service
Effective date: June 6, 2026 — Scriptorium Public Beta
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Scriptorium, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Beta status
Scriptorium is currently in public beta. This means:
- The service may have bugs or incomplete features.
- Features, APIs, and data formats may change without notice during the beta period.
- We may need to perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts access.
- We recommend exporting your data regularly as a backup using the zip export feature.
3. Service description
Scriptorium provides a markdown note and project management workspace with account-based access, server-side autosave, import/export, and a support ticket system.
4. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.
- One person may not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.
5. Your content
- You retain full ownership of all notes and projects you create.
- You can export your entire workspace as a markdown zip at any time.
- You can permanently delete your content and account at any time from your profile settings.
- By using the service, you grant us only the rights necessary to store and serve your content back to you.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data or the service infrastructure.
- Upload content that is malicious, abusive, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Abuse the import feature to upload excessively large or malformed files intended to degrade service performance.
- Use automated tools to scrape, stress-test, or attack the service without prior written permission.
7. Data handling
Our data practices are described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Availability and modifications
We aim to keep the service available but make no uptime guarantees during the beta period. We may modify or discontinue the service with reasonable notice.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including data loss. Export your data regularly.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice where practical.
